At Silk Laundry, we are continually inspired by nature’s hidden beauty. Our founder, Katie Kolodinski, has a lifelong passion for uncovering the delicate relationships that connect all living things. During her research into rare and endangered flora, Katie came across the story of the Ghost Orchid, - a rare flower native to the swamps of Florida and Cuba. This flower, known for its delicate, ghost-like blooms, has long been a symbol of the fragility of nature. For years, it was thought to be extinct, but thanks to photographer Carlton Ward Jr., who spent three summers documenting the flower in its natural habitat, the Ghost Orchid is now at the centre of conservation efforts.
